The coin behind door fourteen is the Vanuatu 1 Vatu.

The currency of Vanuatu, which is an island nation in the South Pacific Ocean, is the Vatu. The Vatu has no subdivisions.

Vanuatu 1 Vatu

The Vatu was introduced as a currency in 1981, which was one year after the country gained independence from France and the United Kingdom.

The obverse of the 1 Vatu coin features the Coat of Arms of Vanuatu and the date. The Coat of Arms features a Melesian warrior holding  a spear with two fern fronds behind him. He is stood on a mountain, with a boar’s tusk in the background. The scroll at the bottom reads “LONG GOD YUMI STANAP” which translates as, “IN GOD WE STAND”.

The reverse features the denomination and the Giant Triton, also known as Triton’s Trumpet. It is a very large sea snail found throughout the Indo-Pacific Ocean.

The official languages of Vanuatu are French, English, and Bislama.
