    Not released into circulation… AGAIN.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Very boring all these new coins.
It’s not change checking anymore it’s just joining a queue and paying 7 quid for “souvenir” coins.

    Never mind

As the grufflo and the Stephen hawkins 50p are not being circulated so you w’ont find them in your change, will that mean they will be worth something ?

    • Rachel Hooper on March 25, 2019 at 8:34 am

Unfortunately these coins won’t enter circulation and so the only way to own one is to buy it in brilliant uncirculated quality. We can’t say whether this would make them more valuable as we don’t yet know the mintage figures and it would be down to how much an individual collector would be willing to pay.

I totally agree with Clive. There should be a limit per person at least for the first hours of the launch!

I really hope this a circulating coin. It’s boring if they keep releasing non circulation coins- three in row so far – that you have to buy. I might give up altogether.

I hope I can get a silver coin

Why is it when you ring up to order a silver coin i.e. Stephen hawkings they tell you that they have all gone yet you say there is 141left and you are doing aloterry for the rest is it because people don’t order on line

    • Rachel Hooper on March 14, 2019 at 3:31 pm

Hi Janice. The Silver coin was being sold from Westminster but they had a very limited stock, so to try and be as fair as possible and give everyone an equal opportunity they decided to run a ballot.

it is because the RM have favoured outlets who they send a load of pre issue coins to … i needed 5 SH but the RM (Royal mint) website restricts to 2, although I had separate addresses for the grand children, peeps buy and immediately sell genuine collectors often getting the expensive crumbs, at least this way there is a chance to get 1 …

Here we go again. Another chance to join a queue just to be in with a chance of purchasing a coin. Coin collecting is becoming less fun with each new release. It is particularly frustrating when it seems half of the coins released end up on ebay at inflated prices

this new peter rabbit was expected. Beatrix still has 26 animals not made into 50p as yet.

I have read the new 2019 Peter Rabbit coin is going to be part of a new set with 3 other characters can you say if this may be right?

    • Rachel Hooper on March 14, 2019 at 1:59 pm

We haven’t heard about any other characters yet, but that woudld be exciting!

  11. Elliot Gittings on March 14, 2019 at 11:54 am

At least this is one coin that will likely be circulating. I hope the mintage isn’t stupidly high like the attention seeking Benjamin Bunny.

What does the other side look like you are showing the queens head but not the other side of the coin

    • Rachel Hooper on March 14, 2019 at 2:23 pm

The design is being kept secret until the launch next week, so you’ll have to wait until then to see it.
