Love The Queens Beasts have most of them only missing two the Black Bull of Clarence and Falcon of The Plantagenets. All fantastic designs. Hope it wins the award. My collection is growing nicely bit by bit thanks to Change Checkers.

It’s a truly stunning coin and a fantastic series of coins before it too 🙂

We’re excited to find out which coin comes out on top when we announce the winners of all of the Change Checker Awards categories on Monday 13th December!

I don’t feel as if I can vote for the coin deigns suggested as I still haven’t seen them in circulation … as indeed I haven’t seen many of the issues over the last 4 years! As such I consider them not to be valid coinage as they are only available in sets which are, after all, a money making exercise (no pun intended!).

I have always been a change checker since I was old enough to have pocket money. I’m now 65 and it saddens me that new designs are no longer really available to new collectors unless they pay over face for a coin that hasn’t actually been used. (Now I’m sounding like a grumpy old man … wait! I am a grumpy old man. :0)

      Hi Gwiynne
I am enclined to agree with you with the way the coins are going now, I have also been with change checker a long time now and found them very helpful but I do have to say the coins are getting very thin on the ground but I have managed to get a great collection or two together and a lot of spare coins, I am just trying to finish the ww1 & ww11 coins and a few others but that just might be it me with the coins but I have to say I really did DO enjoy collecting, if you fancy a chat or two about the coins or things then get back to me, [email protected]
      cheers
      From another grumpy old git
      Les

Here is a story for you
Back in 2011 I was talking to a well known coin dealer who told me he had a rare 2009 anniversary proof 50p coin set which I had never heard off till then so I bought it and he the asked if I am collecting the Olympic coins to which I said yes, I had the first two coins he then asked if I had heard of the original Aquatics coin with the lines across the swimmer face has been called back as the mint don’t like them and had produced another, he then and if I wanted one to which I said yes please how much is that, he said he would put it in with the proof set I bought as a thank you, he then asked me if I wanted a box of them and not even thinking about it I just said no thank you.
But now days every now and then when I think about it a little tear runs down my face.
    HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERY ONE.

All three designs deserve to be No1 coin of the year.
