Coin Information:

After a review of the United Kingdom coinage in 1987, the Government announced its intention to issue a smaller 10p coin. On 30th September 1992 a reduced size version of the 10 pence coin was introduced. The older and larger version of the coin was withdrawn from circulation on 30th June 1993. The reverse of the Crowned Lion 10p features a lion passant guardant royally crowned with the number ‘10’ below and the words ‘Ten Pence’ above.
