2018 marks the 65th anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen’s Coronation on the 2nd June 1953. To celebrate this unprecedented Royal milestone, The Royal Mint issued a stunning £5 coin, as a lasting tribute to this historic year. The spectacular Coronation ceremony took place in London’s iconic Westminster Abbey, and was the first coronation to be televised and was watched by millions across the globe. She has since become the longest ever reigning monarch of The United Kingdom and Commonwealth. The coin itself features an effigy of the Queen on the obverse, designed by Jody Clark. The exceptional reverse design by Stephen Taylor features the Royal Standard, crowned with Her Majesty the Queen’s royal cypher and represents the Sovereign and the United Kingdom.
