The Tower of London has been a symbol of royal power for nearly 1,000 years and during its history the ravens of the Tower have been a constant presence. Legend has it that if they ever leave, the kingdom will fall… In tribute to these guardians of the Tower, The Royal Mint has issued a brand new UK £5 coin designed by Glyn Davies. The unique design features a Raven with a bird’s-eye view of the tower in the background. This is the first coin in a brand new series that celebrates the history of the Tower of London.
