The Queen’s beasts are ten heraldic statues representing the genealogy of Queen Elizabeth II. This brand new five pound coin is the sixth in The Royal Mint’s Queen’s Beast series and features The Yale of Beaufort. The Yale passed into Royal Heritage through John, Duke of Bedford and was eventually gifted to the Beaufort family. Today, it can be seen guarding prominent buildings of education, including the roof of St. George’s Chapel and Windsor Castle.
