To honour the sacrifices of all those who have risked their lives to protect their country’s freedom The Royal Mint issued a 2018 Remembrance Day £5 coin. Following the popularity of the 2017 Remembrance Day £5 which featured colour printing for the first time on a £5 coin, the 2018 reverse, designed by Laura Clancy, also features vibrant red to highlight the symbolic poppy. This £5 coin is especially poignant this year which marks the 100th anniversary of Armistice, which marked the end of the First World War and the victory of the allies on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month 1918. The obverse features the fifth portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, designed by Jody Clark.
