Coin Information:

2019 marks 260 years since the formation of Wedgwood – the iconic ceramic wares which are now cemented in British history. The eighteenth century saw great social changes in Britain as technological innovation enabled increases in production and ushered in the Industrial Revolution. Josiah Wedgwood personified the period, creating a pottery empire with methods of mass production still used by brands today. Designed by the Wedgwood Design Team themselves, the reverse of this £2 coin shows a classic ceramic pottery pot with the words Wedgwood, 1759-2019 inscribed around it. The obverse features the fifth portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, designed by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark.
