Queen Elizabeth II £5: Tower of London Ceremony of the Keys

Years of issue:

2019

Coin Information:

The Ceremony of the Keys is an ancient ritual that takes place each night at The Tower of London. Built by William the Conqueror to proclaim and defend his royal power, the Tower of London has stood on the banks of the River Thames for more than 1,000 years. Taking centre stage in the ceremonial locking of the main gates are the lamp and Queen Keys, which are handled by the Chief Yeoman Warder. To commemorate this tradition, The Royal Mint has issued the fourth and final coin in their Tower of London Collection – The 2019 Ceremony of the Keys £5.
