The Royal Mint have issued 2 brand new Gruffalo™ 50p coins to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this much-loved character of Children’s literature. This very latest release features a design of both the Gruffalo and The Mouse together in a scene from the story- a United Kingdom first. Over 13 million copies of Julia Donalson’s Gruffalo™ book have been sold worldwide – and given this is the first time the Gruffalo has appeared on official UK coinage- we’re sure serious collectors will be racing to secure one of these coins.
