This £5 coin was issued in 2020 to celebrate the reign of George III, Britain’s longest reigning King, 200 years after his death. George III came to the throne in 1760 and his life and reign was longer than any British monarch before him. The reverse design of this coin depicts a portrait of the King by Dominique Evans. Queen Elizabeth II’s fifth portrait, by Jody Clark, features on the obverse.
