To mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, The Royal Mint issued this UK 50p in 2025. Victory in Europe day was a time of immense relief, reflection, and celebration as nearly 6 years of conflict came to an end, and the Second World War officially ended. The design on this coin, by the late John Mills, features a peace dove with an olive branch in its beak, an image reminiscent of the 1995 Peace £2, which was issued to mark the 50th anniversary of VE Day.
