Ian Glen buys the Rare silver 2p coin  2p

On Wednesday 15th June Ian Glen, Managing Director of Change Checker, met up with the Malmesbury Branch of the Royal British Legion to complete the purchase of a rare 'silver' 2 pence piece - and now you can win it.

The unusual coin was found in a collecting tin, and after verification from The Royal Mint, has been confirmed as an extremely sought-after minting error. Somehow an unstruck 10p coin found its way into the presses and a 2p was accidentally struck onto it.

Errors like this hardly ever happen due to the strict quality control at The Royal Mint, so here at Change Checker we knew this was an opportunity not to be missed.

We agreed to buy the coin, with all the proceeds going to the Royal British Legion, and now we want to give the 'silver' 2p to one lucky Change Checker.
