    Hi everyone,
Where ever there be a till or person selling then there will be the possibility of a ‘gotcha’ moment as you discover a hunted coin. I find most people are happy to assist when asked politely to search their coins. Great way to met other hunters and swap tales of success. Mine is obtaining two Puddleducks from two shops at same lunchtime next door to each other. However beware landbased pirates ie the handsome but cheeky one at my local who now will only release any two pounds coins with an added 50p handling charge ( possibly based upon his having to rotate to access top shelf saved coins stash. (PRIVATE STAFF ONLY) and he has ones I hunt. Boo hiss. But then again local bookies is a joy. Main contributor of all. Right, enuff of my hullabaloo for now, happy hunting.

I love collecting commemorative coins because they are works of art. And good art always cheers me up when I’m feeling miserable.
I always go through my A-Z 10p, £2 and 50p booklets for that reason.

I have been collecting English coins for over 50yrs. The old LSD coins are my favourite especially the really old ones. I imagine how many people handled these old coins and how they lived. I lost interest when decimalisation changed our coinage but have recently (about 5yrs been collecting the commemorative coins and it has rekindled my interest.
